Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in TRANSIMUN?
TRANSIMUN is open to all people between the ages of 18 and 30. You do not have to be a student to apply, all you need is a good command of English and a strong interest in the topics of the conference.

Do I have to register as part of a delegation?
No. Registration at TRANSIMUN will be made individually, and so will the country/council allocation. If you are a group of students who wish to pay the conference fees together, that is possible, but please inform us of this immediately.

I have no MUN experience. Can I still participate?
Of course you can. We expect that a lot of our participants will have no previous MUN experience.

Will there be other activities besides the formal sessions?
Since one of the goals of a MUN is bringing young people together and helping to create ties between people from different cultural backgrounds, the TRANSIMUN team is working to organize social activities for each of the evenings.

Will there be a dress code during the conference?
Yes, a formal dress code will be enforced during the sessions and the opening and closing ceremonies; it will consist of business suit for men and business suit or dress for women.

How do I prepare for TRANSIMUN?
Study Guides for each council will be made available on the website. These papers will provide you with some background information on the topics discussed. Besides this, you will have to do some research regarding your country’s position so you can represent it accordingly.

Will there be any awards?
TRANSIMUN will hand out one or two awards in each council (depending on its size) to delegates who show great negotiation skills and knowledge of the topic discussed, and who accurately represent their country’s position. These will be: Best Delegate and Best Public Speaker.

How and when do I pay the conference fee?
The conference fee must be paid through bank transfer to the account mentioned on the “Financial” section of this website, or by Western Union (contact us in advance if you prefer this method). The fee must be paid as soon as possible after you have received confirmation of your registration, but in any case before April 18. If you have a good reason for not paying the conference fee by then, please let us know in advance.
