Cluj-Napoca is a two thousand years-old city located in the heart of the historical region of Transylvania. One of the largest and most prosperous cities of Romania, it has a deep multi-cultural identity, as it has been shaped by three ethnic communities: Romanian, Hungarian and German. Its architecture is extremely diverse, with baroque monuments standing side by side with gothic masterpieces and modern buildings. At every step you will be reminded both of the city’s colourful past, and of its intense modern life. You will find museums, nightclubs, medieval cathedrals, shopping centres, theatres, parks, educational institutions and restaurants, all within a surprisingly small perimeter. Cluj-Napoca is a truly European city, which has retained an enchanting local flavour.
